Guppies

Humans have enough problems trying to interact with each other for us to be spending taxpayer money on the social interactions of guppies. A professor at Stonehill College in Massachusetts was awarded a $899,000 grant in order to determine if guppies give in to peer pressure. For the next 5 years, Heather Bleakley will be conducting experiments such as putting “two bold guppies in a tank with a pair of shy guppies to examine how they behave as they hang out together.” Not only that, taxpayers will also be footing the cost of a group trip to the Caribbean in order to catch wild guppies.
